Imogen Bright Moon is a craftswoman, mother-artist and poet. Her work is rooted in the archetypal storytelling narratives of Humanity, and she is a student of Hildegard of Bingen, Carl Jung, Anne Baring and Peter Kingsley. Imogen’s studio practice weaves textile works from a therapeutic position, exploring a space she calls The Mythic Domestic, pertaining to the social-and-spiritual thresholds of the blood mysteries, childbirth, mothering and post-menopausal cronehood, reclaiming Hysteria as a powerful (and suppressed) creative force. Imogen is published as a contributing poet and cover artist in Wagtail: The Roma Women’s Poetry Anthology (2021), and as a chapter contributor in Woven & Worn (2019). Her other books include The Selkie : Weaving & The Wild Feminine (2018), and Black Tent / Black Sarah (2022). Imogen was awarded two national arts commissions in 2022; Gypsy Maker 5 from Romani Cultural and Arts Company / Arts Council Wales, and DYCP from Arts Council England.
